Upon touching down in D.C on April 17 there will be a wide scale festival with space related activities. Space shuttle Discovery will be turned over to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum on April 19 in an outdoor ceremony as it is rolled in. On behalf of Transportation Sale we thank Space Shuttle Discovery for its service.
The Kennedy Space Center in Titusville , Florida can be seen from Port Canaveral cruise terminal. You can actually the what is called the VAB building or Vertical Assembly Building in which they would stand the shuttles upright and attach the rocket boosters and fuel tank to before being rolled out to the launch pad. The other shuttles are also scheduled to leave the Kennedy Space center soon as well, but to alternate locations in the US.
