Disney Does it Again..
Disney does it again with its fourth flag ship to come next year in 2012. The Disney Fantasy as this one is called is said to set sail on March 31, 2012 to be exact according to Disney’s Cruise website. Although this may be the younger brother to the already sailing Disney Dream this ship has something unique to itself just like the Dream which has the first of its kind water roller coaster this ship will have an AquaLab. The AquaLab was created by Donald Duck’s younger nephews Huey, Duey, and Luey and has left it up to the passengers to overlook it, according to Disney. There will be leaky pipes and levers that can be maneuvered to control both water pressure and temperature. It should be said that although this ship is not to set sail until March of next year doesn’t mean to put it off. If your looking to set sail on this 130,00 vessel yourself be sure to start booking right away. As a matter of fact you can book now through Disney Cruise website. They will be offering both eastern and western Caribbean cruises with their ever so popular 7 night deals. Do to the popularity of their seven night cruises it doesn’t seem like they will be offering any three night cruises for a while. In fact they have even gone as far as canceling for the time being any Florida resident discounts. The Disney Fantasy will be starting out of Port Canaveral, Florida on its maiden voyage starting March 31, 2012 for its first seven night cruise and the best airport to fly into if your coming from out of town would be the Orlando Airport MCO. It is located approximately 40 minutes west of Port Canaveral, Florida. In that being said you should plan to at least come a day before your cruise and spend the night in a hotel in Port Canaveral. This will eliminate any problems if you were to come on the same day. The transportation from the Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral shouldn’t be a problem with traffic as the speed limit is seventy miles per hour all the way there. There is one more airport that should be mentioned for those coming from abroad which would be the Sanford Orlando Airport located in Sanford , Florida. Transportation can also be arranged from Sanford to Port Canaveral ; however it is a bit further out than the Orlando Airport. The Sanford airport is a little over an hour away, but sometimes depending on your location and the airline you choose will be your best option. Be sure to ask as many questions to whomever you choose to go with for your transportation needs to Port Canaveral and back.
Of course a trip to Port Canaveral wouldn’t be the same especially if your going onboard one of Disney’s ship without being able to meet Mickey Mouse himself in person. You can bet that on the first day of Disney Fantasy’s maiden voyage you be able to meet him along with the rest of the crew. As a matter of fact not only does the Fantasy have so much to offer, but it also has the capacity to hold 4,000 passengers along with an additional 1,450 cast and crew members aboard. The ships 1930′s golden era look also has 1,250 staterooms to accommodate. The one other thing you might be thinking of is that this cruise is just for kids. I left the best for last because Disney has not forgotten about the older generation. They do have now a part on the ship called Europa which will have bars and lounges for the eighteen and up crowd, but I’ll leave that to another issue to talk about. Remember to not only book your reservation with the Disney cruise line , but also your transportation to Port Canaveral as well. The earlier you book the cheaper you will find the rates to be. This is especially true for the year to come. There are several options for you to choose from when it comes to transportation so be sure to call around. Any transportation company that picks you up from the Orlando airport have been licensed and permitted to do so. You can rest assured that they are the ones you want. Above all else enjoy the experience that will last a life time!
